Thoughts about the last year of my life. Well, the last 28 years of my life, but the last year in detail. So much HAS happened, NOT happened and has STILL yet to happen. I think though, if I could put my finger on the most useful thing I have learned so far, is that, in order to prevent being just “another actress in Hollywood” a girl needs to stand out!
I’ve realized, through experiencing many years of life in general, the tragic and the beautiful, and talking to so many people who have a million ideas, is that to stand out, is to be who you are. To understand what a professional is, but to understand that no body wants you to be someone your not. Standing out means putting your best foot forward. It means accepting yourself, not only who you are, but who you want to be. Standing out is about discovery, it’s about discipline, it’s about realizing what you want and knowing no body else is going to get you there. Being in Hollywood, means being surrounded by people who share the same dream…for whatever reason. It could be fame, it could be fortune, it could be talent, it could be just because they want to share something with the world and there is no other way they know how. Hollywood is filled with flakes, it’s filled with drama, it’s filled with uncertainty, but Hollywood is where the film comes from. The film that changes your mind and changes your life. You watch movies, you get mad, you laugh, you cry. You feel emotions. You think about life. That is what makes Hollywood so beautiful. And Hollywood is made up of a lot of people who do this for a reason, they make films because they love the art. They love writing, they love acting, they love creating, they love the technical aspects, but mostly they believe in what they share with the world. Most of the time 😉
Standing out means knowing why you’re here. I’m here because I’m meant to be. This is my life. It always was. Being another creative in Hollywood is okay with me. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and every one of us will find our way.
