Sobriety isn’t something we can just get because we want it. If you’re a true alcoholic like me, white-knuckling it through dry periods only gets you so far. To reach a comfortable level of contentment in sobriety, means we have to do the work. We have to be willing to get uncomfortable. And after reaching a good spot in sobriety, we have to KEEP doing the work, because unfortunately, there is no cure for addiction – only a daily reprieve.
