Everything we are, is everything we were meant to be. Our spirit is what matters most. Not our earthly mind or body, but our soul, the spirit within each of us. For me, I try not to waste time thinking about past and future failures, or all the ways I don’t measure up in this world. I would much rather put my energy towards making today great by giving of myself without expecting anything in return, and knowing that it is not my will that moves mountains, but the will of God. My part is to remember “Love” and take action. Easy does it, one day at a time.
My soul has truly been touched, I can’t explain the feeling, other than a feeling in my heart that radiates throughout my entire body. You know, that “hands in the air and head towards the sky” kind of feeling. It does exist! Over the past year and a half, something truly amazing has happened. A sort of transformation. I’ve noticed that as I’ve changed, so have the things around me. I have a loving life partner that shares his love with me. A marriage based on trust. A little dog that brings such a joy to our lives. Great jobs that we are proud of. Money that affords us a comfortable existence. A program that teaches us the tools for living that we couldn’t find anywhere else. And so many priceless friendships. On most days, my heart is full.
I thank God for never giving up on me, for shining his light bright enough for me to see. For giving me the courage to change and work hard to live a good, honest life. I’ve chosen to trust that no matter what, God’s got it. I don’t have to fear the future. My only goal is to enjoy each moment of everyday for what it is, not what it could be or what it was, but what it is. To take in all the lessons and joys of life that I can. To say “sorry” and say “thank you”. To appreciate people for who they are. Most importantly to pray… a lot. And remember that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me.
